| Snowy Owls are uncommon winter visitors. When food is scarce in their native high Arctic, Snowy Owls "irrupt" out of their normal winter range. In such years, Snowy Owls may spend the winter on Plymouth Beach preying on meadow voles, small birds and even waterfowl. On cold winter days, look for these birds on top of dunes or even sitting on top of the beach cottages. |
