The Goldenrod Foundation was incorporated in Massachusetts in 2000 as an operating foundation and IRS designated tax-exempt organization. Its mission is to conserve and protect the coastal environment in Southeastern Massachusetts for people and wildlife. The foundation is named for Seaside Goldenrod, a native plant with resilient roots that helps sustain coastal dunes and numerous species of wildlife. The founder is a New England native with a personal connection to Plymouth since childhood. Goldenrod is a place-based foundation that connects local ecology to global issues of migration, climate change and species extinction through loss of habitat. |
