| Reminiscent in size and behavior of a large tern, the Bonaparte's Gull is most often seen during the fall and winter. Unlike other gulls, this species feeds almost exclusively by picking food from the water's surfaces while fluttering just above. Look for this species bubble gum-colored feet. By early summer, most Bonaparte's Gulls depart to breed on Canadian lakes, bogs and marshes. |
