Join Plymouth residents and others to clean up your favorite natural place: Long Beach! Not only will we make it more beautiful and safe, this year we will also collect data about the types of trash we pick up as part of a national effort called COASTSWEEP. This will show us what types of garbage are most common so that organizations and towns can work toward solutions. It will also cause you to strengthen your resolve not to use disposable plastics.
We will work in teams of four, with one person noting down the types of trash while the other three gather and identify it. We will meet in the Long Beach parking lot at 1 p.m SHARP. and disperse to different areas, then, pickup trash for about an hour and a half. At 3:00 we will meet back in the parking lot to compare experiences, share data and have an AWARDS CEREMONY.
