It’s time to reap a tasty harvest from Long Beach! Join us for a fun program picking, preparing and canning beach plum jam.
The beach plums (Prunus maritima) are ripe!
These delicious fruits are from a native shrub that stabilizes the sand, provides bird habitat and offers us a treat. Beach plums don’t produce fruit reliably on an annual basis, so we are taking advantage of the large crop. We will meet at the Long Beach parking lot and carpool out to the field station. Cost is $5. All materials provided. Bring an apron, if you like.
